Last month, we received news that our Lebanon location had been selected by American Express as a recipient of their Services That Back Us Program grant award of $5,000.
Salon Noir Lebanon was one of 250 recipients of this grant, all of which were given to businesses in older or historic areas that were disproportionately affected by the pandemic and owned by a minority business owner. The building that houses Salon Noir Lebanon has been standing on South Broadway Street since the 1800s. Amber Bromer remains the sole proprietor of the business, making Salon Noir Lebanon a perfect candidate for the grant.
The program, which operates in partnership with Main Street America is a nationwide initiative that backs small business owners who have been impacted by the pandemic to keep planning for long-term success. Our entry for this grant was supported by Rebecca Strole of Main Street Lebanon. Mayor Mark Messer also showed his support with a glowing letter of recommendation.
Having weathered COVID shutdowns, increased costs, health protocols, new partnerships, and much more, Salon Noir has become stronger with a bright future ahead.
With the help of this grant, owner Amber plans to create opportunities and awareness for her staff and add additional salon stations to the Lebanon location. Within a few weeks of receiving the grant, the Lebanon team announced its expansion and is currently interviewing stylists.
